Poverty and hunger takes place all over the world. The places people focus on the most with this problem is in third world countries. People in canada are so worried about the starving kids in other countires, and don't even bother to pay attention to all of the families with no money in our own region. Part of the reason for this is that a poor family in Winnipeg that cant afford food or rent won't make the news, but poverty in Africa is heard about everywhere. I think that we should continue to address all of the other countries, but also pay attention to the people in our own areas, and try to make our own communities a better place.

One very important issue facing teens is self image. When many girls, and even boys see people in magazines and on t.v. they think that they have to look like them. But when you see famous people on the cover of a magazine, a lot of things about them are photoshopped to make them look perfect. When teens see this, it makes them self concious about what they look like. This can make them do drastic things to look "perfect" like extreme dieting, taking diet pills, or having eating disorders like bulemia or anorexia. These things are very hard to overcome and kids get obsessed with it. It is very harmful to your body, and can eventually kill you if it is not treated.

Be the Teacher

If I was the teacher for one of our classes, i would get very frustrated. We don't make things very easy for the teacher, or even for other students. We are sometimes very out of control, and make it difficult for any figure of authority to get us to do what they want. Every once in a while we have a good day and will actually get some work done, but it doesn't happen very often. If i was in charge, i would do some things differently. I would try to find assignments that the students would enjoy, but that they would still benefit from educationally. I would also try to change assignments all the time, so they don't get bored doing the same things over and over. This way, the students might be more motivated to get their work done. I would be strict at times with someone like myself. Sometimes I am difficult, but eventually i will get my work done. I procrastinate, but i usually do end up getting my work done on time or maybe a day or two late. I would just give someone like myself an extra push to get assignments done.

Hero

A hero is someone who puts other people before themselves. They do things to make peoples lives better, or simply to help someone out. They think about things before they act, and make sure they never harm anyone else. Many heros are fictional characters with these traits, that have some sort of special power. In real life, a hero can be a very selfless person that helps out people in need.
